Malaysian Society for Non-Destructive Testing (MSNT) applauds PETRONAS for its forward-thinking approach to adopting Radiographic Testing-Digital (RT-D) technology, underscoring its dedication to safety, reliability, and compliance with global standards.
From January 20-22, 2025, PETRONAS attended an In-House Training program at the Malaysian Nuclear Agency in Bangi. This intensive program, titled “Radiographic Testing – Digital Essentials for Engineering Professionals”, aimed to equip PETRONAS team with cutting-edge knowledge and skills in RT-D.
The program featured comprehensive sessions facilitated by esteemed experts, including Dr. Khairul Anuar Mohd Salleh, Dr. Sapizah Rahim, and Noorhazleena Azaman, covering key topics such as:
- Fundamentals of Radiographic Testing-Digital
- Computed Radiography (CR) and Digital Detector Arrays (DDA)
- RT-D procedures, image analysis, and reporting
- Practical applications, including weld inspection and remaining wall thickness measurement.
PETRONAS’s initiative reflects a strong commitment to integrating advanced NDT techniques, ensuring high operational safety and efficiency standards. This milestone sets a benchmark for other organizations aiming to enhance their engineering inspection capabilities through digital transformation.
